You’re invited to take a look back at the 5th annual Mental Health Empowerment Day! This year’s theme was all about personal stories of mental health challenges, recoveries, and experiences.
With mental health at the forefront of society like never before, it is more important than ever for people to share their stories as a community. We will be featuring the work of the non-profit This Is My Brave and their short documentary, This Is My Brave – shining a light on mental illness to end stigma. The documentary shows different stories of people living with mental illness, including co-founder Jennifer Marshall and her experience living with bipolar disorder. After viewing the documentary, we will hear from Jennifer to learn more about her work and then listen to three of our own community members tell their mental health stories.
UJA has been working hard throughout the pandemic to assist community members with their mental health challenges. The 2021 Campaign, Rally for Recovery, includes a special focus on this growing crisis and will work to bolster investments in services to help those struggling.
